June 1, 2007 -- Switchvox , a provider of IP PBX phone systems for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), announced that its systems are interoperable with Cbeyond's SIP trunking service, dubbed BeyondVoice with SIPconnect.

By integrating its products with Cbeyond's managed services, Switchvox expects to expand its channel partner community, while providing further support and services to its already established distributors.

Cbeyond is an IP-based managed services provider that delivers local and long-distance integrated voice packages, along with mobile and broadband Internet services to more than 29,000 small businesses. The company offers more than 20 applications including BlackBerry, voicemail, email, Web hosting, fax-to- email, data backup, file-sharing, and VPN. Cbeyond manages the services over a private, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) facilities-based network.

Swichvox's SMB and Switchvox SOHO IP PBX phone systems provide enterprise-class PBX features for medium-sized businesses, as well as small home and office set-ups.

With the interoperability, Switchvox says that its and Cbeyond's channel partners will be able to provide their customers with an affordable IP PBX system, Internet access, local and long distance voice service and toll free numbers, among other features, all in one packaged offering.

"Switchvox's IP PBX solutions provide small businesses with a reliable, stable and affordable communications platform," says Chris Gatch, chief technology officer of Cbeyond. "When Switchvox is coupled with our BeyondVoice with SIPconnect service, small businesses that need as little capacity as four simultaneous calls can cost-effectively have direct telephone numbers for all their employees and a business-grade voice service."

"By being interoperable with Cbeyond, we are able to increase the amount of managed services our current channel partners can offer, as well as advance the use of our products with Cbeyond's established customer base," adds Joshua Stephens, CEO of Switchvox. "Switchvox is always looking to complement its product offering and bring value, especially in terms of increased support, to its channel partners, and by partnering with Cbeyond, we are able to achieve this."

The Switchvox system is built from open source software and uses open standards. The IP PBX systems include server hardware and pre-installed Switchvox software, and allow companies to make calls using traditional analog lines, as well as VoIP services.
