Riser-rated corrugated conduit protects fiber cabling

December 18, 2007 -- Arnco Corp. has introduced its Fiber-Guard riser-rated corrugated conduit, designed for use as a non-metallic, flexible raceway for protecting and organizing optical fibers in riser applications.

According to the company, the riser conduit has a lightweight and flexible corrugated design for easy installation, which also provides optimum crush resistance for long-term protection of delicate optical cables. The internal corrugations reduce surface contact between the inside wall of the conduit and the cable jacket, lowering friction and protecting the cable from high tensile stress during installation.

The riser conduit is offered in standard lengths ranging from 250-foot coils to 5,000-foot reels in the following diameters to accommodate specific fiber cable diameter: 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2". Sequential footage markings and product identification are printed every two feet on the riser conduit. The conduit is available in orange or white colors for easy identification in the telecommunications industry.
