DYMO label printers eliminate redundant label typing

October 7, 2008 -- DYMO Industrial says its RHINO 6000 portable label printer and 6500 desktop label printer allow datacom installers type in label information once, then print all labels needed for an entire system.

October 7, 2008 -- DYMO Industrial (Stamford, CT) has developed two label printers designed to solve the "re-typing conundrum," i.e. that when labeling a datacom infrastructure, typing data for each of the components -- patch panels, blocks, cables and faceplates -- can become redundant and time consuming for installers. The company says its RHINO 6000 portable label printer and RHINO 6500 desktop label printer allow datacom installers type in label information once, then print all labels needed for the entire system.

Data can be keyed on the fly or imported from a computer file. Then the installer simply presses the Patch Panel key for perfectly-spaced patch panel labels, Vertical Wrap key to mark cables, and Fixed key to label faceplates or other specific-length components -- all with the same label designation information. The label data never needs to be entered a second time. Plus, installers can "brand" their work by adding their company logo to the labels for a professional-looking installation.

Also, DYMO has teamed up with major datacom and electrical component manufacturers to design pre-formatted templates to use with the RHINO 6000 and RHINO 6500 label printers. Manufacturers include Leviton, SMP, and other major brands. Using the templates and RHINO CONNECT software, installers can easily create labels that are perfectly-sized to the manufacturer's equipment, including patch panels, 110 terminal blocks, wall places, patch cords, and more. Leviton templates can currently be downloaded at www.rhinolabeling.com/leviton. Other manufacturer templates will also be available on the RHINO Web site.
