General Cable adds sequential footage marking to alarm and security cable reels

General Cable is now offering its Carol brand lines of portable power cords and alarm and security cables marked with its TRU-Mark sequential footage marking system.

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KENTUCKY -- General Cable (NYSE: BGC) is now offering its Carol brand lines of portable power cords and alarm and security cables marked with its TRU-Mark sequential footage marking system.

General Cable acquires European transportation and industrial wire harness business Beru SAS

The TRU-Mark System sequentially marks every two feet of Carol brand cord in descending order from the start of the reel to the core. The Carol products will be marked to match corresponding reel lengths, which may be 250, 500 or 1,000 feet, with large, visible printing for accuracy with 1% tolerance.

“TRU-Marked product can cut down on shortages and scrap both in the field and at distribution,” said Todd Sweeney, Product Manager of Carol Brand Cord Products, General Cable. “By always knowing how much is left on the reel, this system will improve the efficiency of our distribution customers, giving them the ability to more effectively manage their partial reel inventories, improving customer service, and saving on scrap cost.”

“The TRU-Mark system allows you to cut and install Carol products with confidence, improving your on-the-job efficiency,” added Elaine Thomas, Product Manager of Carol Brand Electronic Cables, General Cable.

All cables are UL Listed, CSA Certified and RoHS Compliant. Cord products are MSHA and approved for indoor and outdoor use. For more information about General Cable, visit www.generalcable.com.
