Right-angle Cat 5e cables

A pair-guide design maintains pair twists and ensures Cat 5e performance.

The three right-angle Category 5e cables now available from L-Com include what the company describes as a channelized right-angle pair guide and load bars. These features give the cable a true Cat 5e rating, L-Com says.

  • The TRD815RA features one straight plug and one right-angle plug with a key on the bottom (shown in image at the bottom of this page)
  • The TRD815RA2 features one straight plug and one right-angle plug with a key on the top
  • The TRD815RA3 features two right-angle plugs with keys on the bottom.

The aforementioned channelized pair guide design is patent-pending. Product manager Peter McNeil explains the technology's benefits by saying it "helps maintain the pair twists as they enter and go through the right angle bend. By keeping the twists and proper pair separation, we are able to pass Cat 5e testing."

The company can provide the right-angle cables as custom products with various lengths, colors or special labeling, in addition to the standard cables in stock.
