PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. -- Honeywell has announced enhancements to its line of structured cabling solutions that enable easier installation for custom electronics integrators. The enhancements include heavier gauge steel enclosures, telephone punch down blocks that ensure unimpeded communication and enhanced video splitters that support HDTV and CATV programming such as video on demand.

"Installers want simple, easy-to-install technology that can be seamlessly integrated with other systems," said Ray Scott, product manager. "The improvements we’ve made to our structured cabling products address these needs and make it easier for integrators to provide a solid foundation for all the technology needed in today’s homes. It really doesn’t get any simpler than this."

The stronger enclosures provide a more rigid installation for both residential and commercial applications through less flex, while the new telephone punch down blocks provide more space for the installer to work. The blocks also feature better connectivity to ensure unimpeded telephone communication.

Additionally, the new video splitters in both active and non-active products have been upgraded to accommodate the frequencies associated with forward and return-path communications for cable providers. The return path ensures features like video on demand work without incident. Additionally, bi-directional amplification has been increased from 16dB to 20dB to help ensure multiple runs and long runs of video work without interruption.
