Commodity Cables counter-suing Anixter with defamation claim

Charges are in responses to Anixter's suit alleging false advertising, unfair competition, breach of contract and deceptive trade practices.

Commodity Cables Inc., the company being sued by Anixter over claims it provided the distributor with substandard cable product, has filed a countersuit against Anixter in the ongoing litigation. Commodity Cables' attorney of record, David Abramowitz, would not comment on the case but Cabling Installation & Maintenance has learned the company's counterclaim is a defamation allegation.

In its suit against Commodity, Anixter is seeking more than $1 million in damages as well as punitive damages for false advertising, unfair competition, breach of contract and deceptive trade practices.
