ConEst Software Systems recently released IntelliBid Estimating Software Version 7. ConEst develops estimating, design/build, project-management and service/billing software for electrical, low-voltage and structured cabling industries. ConEst's president and chief executive officer George Hague called IntelliBid Version 7 "the most significant product release in our company's 22-year history," adding that it is "a new and complete rewrite of its predecessors, written for SQL Server on the .net platform."

ConEst lists the following highlights of IntelliBid Version 7.

  • Microsoft SQL Server database
  • .Net platform
  • Updated with 2011 National Electrical Code tables
  • Journal Message Center, for communication tracking
  • Branch count sheets with circuit and panel views
  • Direct material takeoff from SureCount symbol-recognition software
  • Exclusive integration with DraftLogic Electrical for building electrical system design and takeoff
  • Full-screen view for enhanced user interface and easy navigation

Hague continued that the new package is, "a major evolutionary step for our flagship estimating program." He said ConEst's ability to innovate in products such as IntelliBid Version 7 "comes from years of industry experience and from a company that knows what contractors need to be successful. This enables us to produce technology tools that empower our customers to produce winning job estimates that increase their profits and help them grow their businesses."

IntelliBid includes a database of more than 120,000 material items with more than 500,000 prebuilt installation assembly options. The company says its "Smart System Technology goes beyond the typical sort-and-filter function by analyzing data to assure compliance with labor and material requirements. Smart Substitution with built-in NEC tables check and correct code violations, and Auto Labor Factoring that makes automatic adjustments to labor units based on installation difficulties and a company's own labor ability are just two of IntelliBid's exclusive Smart System features that help the contractor guard against costly errors in their estimates for bids that are accurate and consistent as well as labor and material cost-efficient."
