AFL launches MicroCore data center cable at BICSI Winter Conference

Feb. 15, 2012
The MicroCore data center cable is 40% smaller in diameter than the industry-standard alternative, AFL says.

At the 2012 BICSI Winter Conference at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL, AFL launched its high-density, sub-unitized MicroCore data center cable. The MicroCore cable is 40% smaller in diameter than the industry-standard alternative, AFL says. The new cable is designed to provide superior density, ease of termination, and fiber organization, and is available with 96 and 144 fibers in UL-compliant plenum, riser, and IEC low-smoke zero halogen constructions.

Additionally at the 2012 BICSI winter show, AFL launched its Noyes M210 Quad OTDR, billed as an "inspection-ready" handheld OTDR designed for installation, maintenance and Tier 1 and Tier 2 certification testing of fiber networks.
