Cabling-installation bid opportunity at University of Houston

The University of Houston - Clear Lake is seeking bids for the installation, termination and testing of Category 6 and fiber-optic cabling systems, as well as the removal of old cabling. According to the scope of work in the bid invitation (bid number IB-12-006), the selected vendor will "perform as needed day to day installation of new blue Cat 6 data lines and white Cat 6 voice lines. Additionally, work will include demolition of old cable plants, testing, troubleshooting and terminating fiber and the installation of wireless access points throughout the University." There is no minimum or maximum number of job orders, nor dollar amount, associated with the bid.

The bid also includes specifications for the cable-labeling scheme to be used within different buildings and on two different campuses (Clear Lake and Pearland)

The bid invitation states that a mandatory walk-through is scheduled for February 27.
