BTX named U.S. distributor for Telecast Fiber Systems

April 18, 2012
Belden subsidiary Telecast says the move extends its reach in the markets for both pro A/V and broadcast systems integration.

BTX Technologies, a value-added distributor of interface, integration, and system products, has entered into a distribution agreement with Telecast Fiber Systems, a brand subsidiary of Belden (NYSE: BDC). Under the agreement, BTX will promote, sell, and provide technical support for a select offering of Telecast products across the U.S.

Notable Telecast products added to the BTX offering for broadcast applications include the Rattler and Rattler 3G miniature HD/SDI video transmission modules and the CopperHead Pro fiber-optic camera transceiver. For integrators, the Rattler line provides a range of digital rates while maintaining signal quality. For A/V venues operating broadcast cameras, the CopperHead Pro enables HD image magnification (I-MAG) applications at an affordable cost.

BTX is showcasing the Telecast product line as part of its exhibit at the 2012 NAB Show.

“Teaming up with BTX is a key move in extending our reach in both the pro A/V and broadcast markets," comments Steve DeFrancesco, vice president and general manager of Telecast Fiber Systems, Inc. "The company boasts an extensive dealer network, providing us with access to a much wider range of professional integrators.”

“BTX has been a long-standing distributor for Belden cable and connectivity solutions to the broadcast and pro A/V markets, and we are very excited to add the Telecast brand to our lineup,” adds Greg Schwartz, president of BTX Technologies. “Telecast’s fiber solutions have a well-deserved reputation for significantly reducing time spent in the field and lowering costs; valuable benefits that we are pleased to offer our customers.”
