FTTH-MDU riser cable break-out tool

New video from Ripley Tool demonstrates the Miller Riser Break-Out Tool (RBT).

A new video from Ripley Tool demonstrates the Miller Riser Break-Out Tool (RBT), for use in FTTH-MDU [Multiple Dwelling Unit] as well as other riser cable applications.

As noted by Ripley, this wire and cable preparation tool is specifically designed to shave a break-out window in riser cable with no fiber damage, allowing extraction of individual fibers. The RBT's compact and thin profile design allows for ease of use when riser cable is surface mounted, without the need for separating it from the mounting surface. The tool shaves a longitudinal break-out window in 8.5 mm, 10.5 mm and 14 mm O.D. riser cables without requiring any time-consuming adjustment.

The RBT is compact and lightweight yet incorporates a rugged aluminum body design. It allows easy and fast access to closely spaced riser cables especially in small confined areas. Its factory-fixed shaving blade is made of high carbon steel, and is safely recessed away from an installer's hand to minimize exposure.
