Interface Masters' 10Gb PacketMaster series of devices is designed to support 10GBase-T, hardware-based network load balancing.

Interface Masters has launched its 10Gb PacketMaster series of devices, designed to support 10GBase-T hardware-based network load balancing. The company says the first device in the series, the Niagara 4224-24TX, utilizes a hybrid 10G approach by providing 24 ports of 10GBase-T and up to 24 ports of 10GBase fiber SFP+ connectivity to ensure flexibility and compatibility with existing installations.

According to the company, the Niagara 4224-24TX provides extensive packet management functionality including L2, L3 and L4 packet filtering, packet slicing, advanced mirroring, session based traffic distribution and traffic aggregation. The device supports 10-Gigabit Ethernet fiber media configuration and connectivity to 10G or 1-GbE networks via SFP+ or SFP transceivers, while its 24 10GBase-T ports can support 10 Gbps over Cat 6A cabling, or 1 Gbps over Cat 5e media.

In addition, Niagara 4224T-24TX's software suite enables remote management via the unit's console port. The intuitive Web GUI provides “drag and drop” configuration of input and output ports, network links, monitor ports and filters, while providing extensive statistics retrieval.

“Niagara 4224-24TX is a first-of-its-kind 10GBase-T system that enables full access and visibility into mission critical network links on 10GBase-T, 10G SFP+ fiber, 1G SFP fiber and 1G SFP copper networks,” comments Ben Askarinam, founder and CEO of Interface Masters Technologies. “Interface Master’s 1U form factor PacketMaster is based on Interface Masters’ state-of-the-art and proven technology installed at major telcos, MSOs and service providers, providing 960Gbps throughput at an affordable price.”

The product is shipping in production and available for evaluations. More information is available here.
