The paper is intended as a resource to help technicians identify and implement the right type of Ethernet cabling to ensure reliable network performance in industrial applications.
The paper notes that understanding Ethernet cable classifications and their uses, combined with proper cabling installation technique, will allow users to meet diverse Ethernet cable application requirements for networking critical devices and control systems. "Solid and stranded cables each have their individual purposes and benefits," states the document. "Knowing when and where they should be used will improve networking performance and efficiency."
