The Thermax and Raydex cable businesses will be acquired by Carlisle Companies.

Belden and Carlisle Companies Inc. recently announced that Carlisle will acquire the Thermax and Raydex cable businesses, serving the aerospace and defense industries, from Belden for approximately $265 million. Both parties stated they expect the transaction to close by December 31. (Editor’s note: Carlisle Companies is distinct from The Carlyle Group, which owns CommScope.)

John Stroup, Belden’s president and chief executive officer, described the businesses as “tremendous assets that will be right at home with a great company.”

According to Carlisle’s announcement of the deal, Thermax-Raydex has annual sales of approximately $112 million, with manufacturing facilities in Nogales, Mexico; Littleborough, U.K.; and Fountain Valley, CA. The businesses will become part of Carlisle Interconnect Technologies.

David Roberts, chairman and chief executive officer of Carlisle, said Thermax-Raydex “adds capabilities and technology to strengthen our interconnect products business in very attractive aerospace and industrial sectors.”
