Radio Gigabit has integrated its lens antenna technology with Siklu’s E-band radio in a product aimed at the exploding millimeter-wave backhaul market.

Radio Gigabit (Moscow, Russia), a developer of antenna technologies for millimeter-wave communication systems, has introduced a lens antenna for E-band backhaul applications.

Radio Gigabit has partnered with Siklu Communication, a vendor of E-band radios, to integrate its lens antenna with the Siklu’s E-band radio. Siklu took part at the recent 2013 Mobile World Congress (Feb.25-28) exhibition in Barcelona, where it showcased its millimeter wave systems equipped with a Radio Gigabit's lens antenna.

According to the companies, the patent-pending lens antenna's technology provides a combination of high gain, small form factor, excellent performance, and superior cost-efficiency to meet the requirements of the exploding millimeter-wave backhaul market. With the new product launch, the two companies say they will evaluate the augmented lens antenna's performance and market potential.

“Partnering together with Siklu, the leading innovator in the millimeter wave backhaul market, gives us a confirmation of the high market potential and usability of the lens antennas developed by Radio Gigabit for backhaul applications,“ comments Alexey Badyuk, CEO of Radio Gigabit.
