Physical security systems integrator credits wireless surveillance, license plate recognition for rapid growth

March 11, 2013
Iron Sky's sales are projected to increase by 105% in 2013.

Iron Sky (Houston, TX), an integrator of physical security platforms for government agencies, recently announced its revenue growth projections for 2013-2015. The integrator's sales grew by 40% in 2012; sales are projected to increase by 105% in 2013.

Iron Sky says this surge in sales has been driven by the company's "combined software and integration approach to the market." State and local government agencies are facing unique security challenges that require customized solutions, contends the company. Iron Sky says it has addressed these challenges by creating customized software solutions, while incorporating wireless and mobile advancements, cloud services, as well as the latest in hardware innovations.

“Our vision has always been to combine the previously segmented components of physical security projects into a single initiative,” comments Iron Sky's president and CEO, Keith Drummond. “This produces more customized, user-friendly solutions for our clients, and more efficient, profitable projects for Iron Sky. The results can clearly be seen in the growth we are now experiencing.”

According to an Iron Sky press release: "IMS Research states that the market for wireless infrastructure used to support video surveillance applications is expected to more than double from $274 million in 2011 to $705 million in 2017, an increase of nearly 160%. Research and Markets states that the global video surveillance as a service market will grow at a combined annual growth rate of 28.1% from 2012-2016. The firm Markets and Markets states the total video surveillance applications market is expected to reach $25.43 billion by 2016."

“Our 2013 projections are based primarily on awarded contracts with state and local agencies," concludes Drummond. "Our 2014-2015 projections take into account our expansion into the federal market, as well as commercial markets such as oil and gas." He add, "Our technology advancements will follow the trends of the hardware manufacturers. For example, as the iPad advances, Iron Sky will work to leverage those advancements, putting increased public safety tools directly into the hands of first responders."
