HD dome security camera operates over standard coax cable

HD dome security camera from CCTV Camera Pros delivers full 1080p video resolution over coax cable.

CCTV Camera Pros (Palm Beach, FL), a supplier of video surveillance equipment, has announced the availability of its HD-D20 dome security camera, which uses high definition HD-SDI format video.

"HD-SDI CCTV is much more simple for users to configure because it is plug and play using standard coaxial cable like traditional CCTV," explains CCTV Camera Pros co-founder, Mike Haldas. "This means that existing system owners that want to upgrade their older CCTV systems with higher resolution cameras can replace their old DVR and cameras without having to run new cable -- if they have RG59 or RG6 [coax cable] already in place."

The HD-D20 is available in a black or white base (HD-D20W) dome housing that is designed for indoor use. The camera's 4.3 mm lens provides the user with a wide angle of view, ideal to monitor both large and small rooms. The HD-D20 is capable of capturing surveillance video at full 1080p resolution, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels. This makes the HD dome security camera comparable to high-end, 2-megapixel IP cameras -- however, the HD-D20 runs over standard RG59 or RG6 coax cable, instead of Cat 5 cabling.

Smart IR technology and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) features allow the camera to provide clear, detailed images in ultra-low and zero light environments. Installers can adjust the HD-D20's settings to the exact lighting levels and environment it is installed in via the unit's OSD (on screen display) menu.

"We are very excited to launch these HD CCTV systems," continues Haldas. "The HD-D20 is capable of full high definition recording at 1080p resolution, but the cost of the camera is no higher than a mid to high end analog cameras. Users get megapixel resolution for CCTV prices. The HD-D20 is an ideal choice for users that want high definition recording and want to avoid the high cost and sometimes steep learning curve of setting up megapixel IP cameras.”

The HD-D20 is currently available online from CCTV Camera Pros for $229.99. For additional information, visit www.cctvcamerapros.com/hd-d20.
