Legrand and Superior Essex establish nCompass cabling system alliance

April 2, 2013
Companies say the combined offering is targeted at high-performance system applications and solutions-based for customers.

Legrand and Superior Essex Communications LP announced the establishment of an alliance between the companies to jointly develop, market, support and warrant cabling systems, in the United States and internationally. The nCompass suite of solutions for structured cabling systems combines Ortronicsconnectivity products and Superior Essex data-cable products.

The two companies also will co-market their portfolios of communications products that complement enterprise-class structured cabling systems—including outside-plant fiber-optic and copper cable, RF coaxial cable and Legrand’s Layer Zero series of cabinets, racks, cable-management and aisle-containment technologies.

The two companies will share a network of sales representatives and certified installers for nCompass systems, which will be offered through select distribution channels, they explain. nCompass will be backed by a limited lifetime warranty for certified installations.

Tim Waldner, president of Superior Essex Communications LP, said, “In creating this new alliance, we sought to rewrite the old model and provide a truly solutions-based offering for our customers—an offering that is unified in terms of support and technology, global in its availability, and more encompassing in its applications coverage.”

Legrand Data Communications’ president Mark Panico added, “nCompass is targeted at high-performance system applications, and will offer market-leading performance and many functional product advantages. More importantly, Legrand and Superior Essex will be collectively providing more comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for our customers and offering greater assurance in a time of rapidly advancing technology.”
