OTDR includes power meter, light source, visual fault locator capabilities

Greenlee’s 930XC OTDR is ‘feature-loaded but simple to operate’ the company says.

Greenlee Communications recently announced the release of the 930XC, which the company describes as an “all-in-one optical time-domain reflectometer [OTDR] that offers fast, accurate and reliable solutions for cable acceptance testing and fault locating.” All 930XC OTDR models come with an optical power meter (OPM), a stabilized light source (SLS) and a visual fault locator (VFL).

“The 903XC is feature-loaded but still simple to operate,” said Keith Foord, lead engineer at Greenlee Communications. “It has a large, easy-to-read display, single-button test options, and can continuously run for up to eight hours on a single battery charge. OPM, VFL and SLS are standard features for all models, making this great features-to-value proposition for our customers.”

The OTDR also comes with software that allows the user to generate cable acceptance reports, Greenlee notes. The reports can be customized to include trace signature, fiber events and other test metrics.

Additionally, the 903XC is GR-196 BellCore certified, which Greenlee points out is a standard requirement for many telecommunications companies. The unit features a protective rubber boot and a sealed membrane panel for drop- and water-resistance.

These Tower Tech XR cooling towers use evaporative cooling to remove heat generated within the data center by IT equipment. Composite cooling towers are more compact and significantly lighter than metal towers. They arrive at a data center site pre-built.
