Field optical fiber cleaver consistently prepares single-, multimode cabling

Greenlee's 910CL is said to consistently cleave flat, which is a key requirement for good splices.

Greenlee has launched its model 910CL, a precision optical fiber cleaver designed to allow cable technicians to prepare single- and multi-mode fiber cable quickly and easily, for both indoor and outdoor splicing applications.

The 910CL is said to consistently cleave flat, which is a key requirement for good splices, notes Greenlee. The tool's interlocking mechanism also prevents cleaving until proper tensioning is complete. Easy to clean and adjust, the cleaver's rugged construction makes the 910CL best suited for field use.

Best results can be attained when the 910CL is paired with the Greenlee 910FS optical fusion splicer. Cleaved fiber remains in the adapter and the entire unit can be inserted into the 910FS, saving time, reducing damage to the fiber, and providing faster, more accurate results. Blades also rotate for longer life.

Adapters are available for 250 μm, 900 μm, bow-tie, and splice-on connectors (SC and LC). No batteries are required.
