Comtrol releases its RocketLinx ES7206-XT switch.

Industrial device connectivity specialist Comtrol has released its RocketLinx ES7206-XT Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch.

The unmanaged ES7206-XT switch contains four Gigabit IEEE 802.3af/at PoE ports, one Gigabit copper uplink port, and one Gigabit SFP uplink port supporting multi-mode or single-mode fiber connections. According to the company, featuring the proprietary Voltage Boost technology, the ES7206-XT enables direct 12-36 VDC input, supporting vehicle, building and factory power systems while delivering reliable power to PoE devices.

“Comtrol’s new Gigabit PoE Plus Ethernet switch is designed for outdoor PoE applications with its extended operating temperature range. Its ruggedized features make the RocketLinx ES7206-XT an ideal solution for IP surveillance, transportation, mining, and other demanding PoE applications,” says Bradford Beale, president of Comtrol, “Additionally, the Voltage Boost feature and ‘plug-n-play’ installation make it easy for security and traffic integrators to deploy.”

As an unmanaged switch, the ES7206-XT is designed for quick, convenient setup while advanced capabilities and NEMA TS2 certification for traffic applications enable the switch to provide reliable PoE connectivity under extreme conditions, says the company. The device's Gigabit copper and fiber uplink ports allow connectivity for connected high-power, high-bandwidth PoE devices such as access points and HD pan/tilt/zoom cameras. Redundant power inputs, polarity and over-current protection, and a configurable alarm relay round out the new switch's safety features.
