A fund has been established for the survivors of Brian Pearl, a San Francisco-area cabling technician who was killed in an automobile accident May 31. Pearl, 39, a member of the IBEW’s San Francisco Local 6, left behind his wife Danielle and their sons Cole (5) and Jaxon (3).
Family friend Lacey Dodd established this gofundme account, which accepts donations to assist the Pearl family with living expenses; Brian Pearl was the household’s sole financial provider.
Brian’s brother Jason Pearl—who also works in the data-communications cabling industry in the San Francisco area as a project manager and estimator–told Cabling Installation and Maintenance that Brian would have turned 40 years old in August and had been in the electrical and data-communications cabling industry for approximately 20 years. “He has worked for most of the San Francisco shops throughout his career,” Jason Pearl said. “Brian went through apprenticeship in San Francisco Local 6 and was a member of L6 for his entire career … He never turned down overtime work, and never complained about it or about the job he was on. He always brought light and laughter to the jobsites he was on, making the vibe go from something stressful to something a little more fun.”
The Pearls live in Citrus Heights, CA, which is approximately 100 miles from most of Brian’s worksites in the San Francisco area. Jason Pearl noted that when Brian and Danielle got married, “They moved to Citrus Heights where they would be able to afford a house. He commuted from Citrus Heights for the past several years—never once complaining about having to start work early or work late.”
