Web seminar addresses high-density network installation, management

July 3, 2014
Topics to be covered include connecting with multifiber technology and powering/cooling densely packed spaces.

A web seminar to be hosted by Cabling Installation & Maintenance will delve into the installation and management of high-density networks, with specific focus on high-fiber-count cabling systems as well as powering and cooling densely packed networking equipment. Entitled “Installation and Management Techniques for High-Density Networks,” the seminar will be held live on Wednesday, July 23 at 1pm EDT. After its live broadcast, the seminar will be available for on-demand viewing for six months. Experts from Berk-Tek, a Nexans company and from Tripp Lite will be the featured speakers.

Cabling Installation & Maintenance described the seminar’s premise as follows: “With the ‘Internet of computers’ being joined by the ‘Internet of things’ to result in the ‘Internet of Everything,’ the transmission of data is constant and the amount of information in storage grows steadily. For the infrastructure systems that support this transfer and storage of information, the sheer number of connections within a space poses deployment and management challenge. This seminar addresses some challenges presented by high-density networking systems.

Berk-Tek’s manager of data center markets, Mike Connaughton, will deliver a presentation titled “Multi-fiber Connectivity Technology: A Next-Generation Migration Path.” That presentation will be followed by a to-be-named presenter from Tripp Lite, who will present on the topic “Powering and Cooling Densely Packed Networks.”

Individuals who attend the seminar in its entirety will be eligible to receive one ITS continuing education credit (CEC) from BICSI. You can find more information on the seminar here and register for it here.
