Preterminated copper system now has more-compact cassettes

July 21, 2015
The RNS Short Body Cassette, new to HellermannTyton’s RapidNet preterminated copper cabling system, enables double density when used in angled panels.

HellermannTyton now offers the RapidNet RNS Short Body Cassette as part of its RapidNet preterminated copper cabling system. When announcing the RNS cassette, the company explained, “Although fully compatible with standard RapidNet panels and accessories, the RNS cassette has been specifically designed to be used with angled RapidNet panels, which, when used together, allow for double the density.”

The RNS line is available in Category 6 UTP; it provides 6 ports per cassette or 24 ports in 1 RU. Available in black as a standard color, the ports can be delivered in a choice of other colors, which the company pointed out “can help define network features such as routes, services, hierarchies or security levels. In addition, the colors can be used to define connections within a shared space, such as in colocation data centers.”

The RNS Series is part of HellermannTyton’s patented RapidNet system, “which offers high-performance copper and fiber solutions for data centers and storage area network applications,” the company said. “These preterminated solutions do not require on-site termination or certification testing, which reduces installation time by up to 85 percent.”
