Awarded at CES 2016, Netgear says new AC Wi-Fi line is optimized for smart homes

At the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) in Las Vegas (Jan. 6-9), Netgear will be lauded with 4 CES Innovation Awards for products that make it easier "for mobile and smart home devices to connect anywhere in the home at the fastest AC WiFi speeds," the company says.

At the 2016 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2016) in Las Vegas (Jan. 6-9), Netgear (NASDAQ: NTGR) will be lauded with 4 CES Innovation Awards for products that make it easier "for mobile and smart home devices to connect anywhere in the home at the fastest AC WiFi speeds," the company says. At the show, the company will also unveil its new Nighthawk WiFi routers and extenders, Arlo Smart Home security products, new powerline and PowerLINE WiFi adapters, fast cable modem products, and the company 's ReadyNAS storage platform.

Four Netgear products will be on display in the CES 2016 Innovation Awards Showcase at the Sands Expo center. "These honorees have been evaluated by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) for their exceptional engineering, aesthetic design, and innovative qualities," said CES of the awarded products. The winners include Netgear's: Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Smart WiFi Router (R8500); Nighthawk X4S AC2600 Smart WiFi Router (R7800); Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C7000); and CM600 High Speed Cable Modem. A brief description of each, as provided by the company, is as follows:

-- "The Nighthawk X8 AC5300 Smart WiFi Router (R8500)...delivers astonishing Internet performance with combined WiFi speeds up to a blistering 5.3Gbps (1000Mbps + 2166Mbps + 2166Mbps), a new record for a home router.
