Convergint expands Canadian building systems presence by acquiring H&E Comfort Controls

HE strengthens Convergint's presence in Canada with a strategic location in Windsor, Ontario and a substantial customer-installed base throughout the province.

On April 12, Convergint Technologies (Schaumburg, IL), a specialist in service-based systems integration, announced its acquisition of HE Comfort Controls, a provider of building systems to address facility challenges of workplace security, comfort, and energy conservation.

HE strengthens Convergint's presence in Canada with a strategic location in Windsor, Ontario and a substantial customer-installed base throughout the province. The acquisition also expands Convergint's access to several key vertical markets, including K-12 and higher education, municipal government, and utilities. Convergint Technologies designs, installs, and services integrated building systems including electronic security, building controls, and fire alarm and life safety systems.

Founded in 1989, H&E notes that it has completed hundreds of projects delivering solutions that provide optimum security, energy efficiency, and comfort. In addition to building automation solutions, H&E offers access control, video surveillance, system integration, power metering, and energy efficiency.
