The WireXpert 4500, a Category 8 tester, uses ARJ45 connectors and tests up to 2 GHz.

Softing IT Networks recently announced that it received approval from Stewart Connector for certification testing of all copper local area network (LAN) cabling products, including Category 8.2. “The Stewart Connector approval is associated with the Softing IT Networks WireXpert 4500 product, which uses ARJ45 connectors for testing up to 2 GHz,” Softing said when announcing the accomplishment.

“The approval certifies Softing IT Networks as the first global player to abide by Stewart Connector’s Cat 8 conformance, which is excellent news for the copper cabling industry,” Softing continued.

Category 8.1 and Category 8.2 products are essential for Ethernet applications up to 25 and 40 Gbits/sec over copper twisted-pair cabling, the company added. Additionally, Softing announced, it received approval from BKS Kabel Service AG for testing that manufacturer’s MMCPro System up to Class II.

Tobias Heilmaier, product manager for Softing IT Networks, commented, “We have been working hard on getting our products to this level of conformity and we are pleased to have made it first in the market through extensive R&D investment. This has been the first step for us and we look forward to completing the round of certifications available in order to continue being a strong player in this specific field.”
