Provider of Sticklers brand fiber cleaning solutions, MicroCare recently cut the ribbon at the facility that houses 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space along with a quality lab and offices.

MicroCare recently opened its newest manufacturing facility in New Britain, CT. The facility consists of 15,000 square feet of manufacturing space, a quality lab and offices. The company reports that approximately a dozen employees will work at this new location at the outset, with the expectation that the number will about double over the next few years given MicroCare’s growth record. The ceremonial red ribbon (pictured) was cut by New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart, assisted by MicroCare COO Tom Tattersall. The company’s senior vice president, Jay Tourigny, and vice president of operations, Heather Gombos, also attended, accompanied by a number of other employees.

Provider of the Sticklers brand of fiber cleaning products and solutions, MicroCare was founded in 1983 in Bristol, CT. In a press statement the company recalled that it “formulated and packaged aerosol cleaners for the electronics industry but gradually expanded. In 2000 the company moved its primary manufacturing center to New Britain, CT. Since this facility is operating at full capacity, additional space was needed to expand operations.” The newest facility is the company’s fifth operating facility; others include a logistics center in Rocky Hill, CT and warehouses in Singapore and Brussels. In addition to serving the fiber-optics industry, MicroCare produces cleaning solutions for electronics, metal-finishing, transportation, medical-device and aerospace industries.

Tattersall commented, “The new facility is a big, multi-million-dollar bet on the future, our people and our town. We are proof that manufacturing can survive and prosper in America.”

Mayor Stewart added, “We are thrilled that MicroCare has chosen to increase their presence in our city. We know that when our local businesses thrive, our community prospers. I’d like to congratulate MicroCare on their success and wish them continued growth.”
