A new cable testing profile on the MS-TestPro for Belden 4K UHD Media Cables immediately provides installers with all the information they need to measure and assess cable performance in the field, ensuring the complete integrity of HDBaseT installations.

Belden this month announced that it has approved MSolutions’ hand-held tester, the MS-TestPro, as one of the first authorized devices for testing Belden’s new 4K UltraHigh-Definition (UHD) media cables, models 2183P (plenum) and 2183R (riser).

Per a Belden press release: "Certified PartnerAlliance AV Integrators who install Belden HDBaseT Systems can measure system performance with MS-TestPro’s Cable Certification Report. Passing test results enable integrators to apply for an extended 25-year component warranty and a Lifetime Application Assurance Program.

A new cable testing profile on the MS-TestPro for Belden 4K UHD Media Cables immediately provides installers with all the information they need to measure and assess cable performance in the field, ensuring the complete integrity of HDBaseT installations. Using the MS-TestPro, installers can generate Cable Certification Reports that document link status and serve as quality validation for Belden’s PartnerAlliance HDBaseT Warranty.

According to MSolutions, by following a simple process that takes only a few seconds, any installer can collect the testing data in the field from local and remote modules, and store it in the MS-TestPro’s memory or download it to a device."

“Belden’s innovative PartnerAlliance HDBaseT Warranty and training help enterprises futureproof their infrastructure, with complete assurance that a Belden cabling system installed and tested by a PartnerAlliance AV Integrator will support today’s HDBaseT applications and tomorrow’s advancements to 4K,” says Elizabeth Stephan, director of sales and channel, broadcast and AV for Belden.

Belden’s 4K UHD Media Cables are specifically designed to deliver 4K content over HDBaseT up to 100 m, support HDBaseT 5Play and carry the UL 4299 Power Over HDBaseT (PoH) certification, all in a small, flexible design.

“Belden’s 4K UHD Media Cables, 2183P and 2183R, are of superb quality, designed with parameters that optimize transmission on the HDBaseT link,” says Ariel Marcus, MSolutions’ cofounder and CTO. “In a series of tests conducted using the MS-TestPro, Belden’s 4K UHD Media Cables combined with its REVConnect Connectivity System demonstrated exceptional performance in handling signal interference. As a result, the 4K UHD Media Cables increase the overhead of HDBaseT link stability between transmitter and receiver, allowing the HDBaseT receiver to recover data in worst-case conditions without dropping the video or going through an HDBaseT link drop.”

“We are very proud to play an integral part in Belden’s HDBaseT cable technology breakthrough,” says Eliran Toren, MSolutions’ cofounder and CEO. “The MS-TestPro is part of all Belden HDBaseT training classes, allowing technicians to receive personal, hands-on training in its use.” Belden’s PartnerAlliance HDBaseT Warranty and related training has launched in the United States, Canada and Latin America with plans to expand globally.
