APOLAN takes to BICSI

Feb. 4, 2014
The Association for Passive Optical LAN (APOLAN) will be very active at the 2014 BICSI Winter Conference.

The Association for Passive Optical LAN (APOLAN), which promotes the use of passive optical LAN technology and brings together major IT networking companies including Corning, IBM, SAIC, TE Connectivity, Tellabs, Zhone and 3M, announced that it will start the year strong with two major industry events, the 2014 BICSI Winter Conference, and the association's first annual meeting for its members, held in conjunction with the BICSI event.

The association will be very active at this year's BICSI Winter Conference (Feb. 2-6), at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. Association members will be driving advocacy and promoting education for passive optical LAN technology throughout the event. The association also will have a physical presence during BICSI Exhibit Hall hours at its booth #736.

The association's first Annual Meeting for its members will be held in conjunction with the BICSI conference on Wednesday, February 5, also at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. All members are encouraged to participate at this event, which will focus on the "exciting evolutionary fiber-based LAN technology that drives down costs, improves security and provides a near future-proof LAN infrastructure option for modern high performance buildings and campuses."

"APOLAN members have achieved significant milestones in the global adoption of passive optical LAN. In 2014 this association will channel the combined success and create synergies towards common education and advocacy efforts," commented Jeff Jones, director, APOLAN. "Our active involvement with the BICSI 2014 Winter Conference and APOLAN's first annual meeting mark progress toward fulfilling the association's mission."
