nVent Electric recently launched the addition of common North American voltages to the Rack Safety Plus line of modular safety and power distribution units made to protect and connect electronics enclosed within 19" cabinets. These slide-in units have power entry and distribution, as well as safety features that are required for operating semi- and fully automated test systems.

A few noteworthy features of the Rack Safety Plus are its configurable power outlets, input connectors, and safety functions like an emergency power button. For the new North American versions updates include compatibility with 120VAC or 208/240VAC input power, configurable NEMA Type 5 outlets, and c(UL)us listing (pending). The product is CE-certified with UL certification underway, which will allow users to customize it to fit their specific application without losing any approvals.

Christian Ganninger, Global Product Manager for Embedded Systems for nVent SCHROFF discussed the innovative nature of the Rack Safety Plus and stated, “Prior to this product, the only option available was to manufacture the components for their infrastructure themselves. This new product will not only save our customers internal development costs, but also provide them with immediate options for implementation.”
