The OneTouch Series II Network Assistant family of Web-enabled handheld test tools troubleshoots network connections and diagnoses problems in switched Fast Ethernet and TCP/IP environments. With an icon-based touch-sensitive screen, the tester facilitates troubleshooting of switched networks by discovering key devices past the gateway router. For each switch, the tester displays switch port interface type and status. The OneTouch Series II Pro unit adds full remote-control capability via a Web browser and enables technicians to map any device to the switch port it is attached to with a single touch. The "Pro" version also provides information necessary to speed configuration of workstations. OneTouch Series II Network Assistant supports OneTouch Reporter software, an optional utility that lets technicians document a network. Price of the OneTouch Series II Network Assistant family ranges from $2,695 for the 10-Mbit/sec version to $4,995 for the Series II 10/100 Pro.

The SuperSplice CS-1500 provides an alternative to soldering for a wide range of applications, including wire-to-wire, wire-to-component, wire-to-PCB, or wire-to-subassemblies. Using a continuous reel of spliceband crimping material, the unit cuts, forms, and crimps the required amount of material into a precision splice around the wires, creating reliable solderless joints that comply with UL-486C pull-force specifications. With average cycle times of less than 500 msec and throughput as high as 800 to 1,000 splices per hour, the device can boost production output by as much as 500% over hand-soldering alternatives, according to company claims. The system can perform up to 75,000 crimps from a single reel of spliceband and also eliminates the noxious fumes and potential for temperature-induced damage that are associated with hot solder operations.
