Coaxial and twisted-pair copper connectors now offered through Klein Tools

June 6, 2012
The manufacturer adds coax connectors with universal sleeves, and twisted-pair connectors with 50-micro-inch gold plating to its cadre of test and tool product offerings.

Coaxial and twisted-pair copper cabling connectors are now available from Klein Tools, adding to the hand tools and testers that long have been offered by the company.

Klein explains that the universal sleeve coaxial connectors have an open-style sleeve design that fits on all diameter variations within a cable series. "It even fits multi-shield and plenum cables, which are difficult to terminate," the company says, adding that the connector's flexible structure reduces the number of different coaxial connector types an installer needs to carry. Additionally, "the patented viewing windows let a user see if the cable is seated properly," Klein says. These features add up to terminations that are as much as five times faster than typical coax connectors, the company notes.

The Klein twisted-pair modular connectors feature 50-micro-inch gold plating on the contact plates, which the company says provides "maximum durability to prevent connector failure. The three-pronged solid and stranded wire contacts along with sturdy connector housings and spring clips deliver a sure connection every time."

Klein tools' senior product manager Dave Mueller commented, "By adding coax and twisted-pair cable connectors and accessories to our line of tools and testers, Klein Tools is now a one-stop-shop for VDV installers. We looked at the challenges professionals face and designed these products to make installation faster and easier, while reducing inventory needs with flexible-fitting, reliable connectors that save time, money and effort."
