Healthcare, construction experts headline Anixter data center virtual seminar

Professionals with experience building and managing data center systems will discuss their methods of achieving efficiency.

Three professionals with extensive combined experience in the realms of health care, data center construction and data center management will headline a one-hour virtual seminar that will be hosted by Anixter on December 4. The seminar will be preceded and followed by an opportunity to interact with sponsoring companies.

The seminar will begin at 12 noon EST and last for one hour. For 30 minutes before the seminar begins, an online venue will be open to attendees and sponsors. Upon the seminar’s conclusion, a “virtual show floor” will open, enabling attendees to visit booths and further interact with representatives of the exhibiting companies. Seminar panelists include Gary Cudmore, HCC, senior data center consultant with Deerns America; Rick Kleba, data center facilities specialist with ProHealth Care; and Victor Garcia, director of facilities engineering and operations with Brocade. Anixter’s vice president of technology, Andy Jimenez, will host the panel.

Cudmore has more than 28 years’ experience in the design, engineering and construction of energy-efficient, high-reliability data centers. He has managed construction companies focused on mechanical and electrical trades and brings hands-on data center construction experience to the panel.

Kleba has 18 years’ experience in healthcare information technology, and for the past 10 years has focused on the data center operations of ProHealth Care. In that time he has managed multiple data center expansions, including the replacement of its entire electrical distribution system.

Garcia has global responsibility for the design and development of Brocade’s technical infrastructure and building systems construction. Over the past 12 years he has overseen construction projects for data centers, office space, manufacturing sites and research-and-development facilities for Brocade and other companies. His focus has been on energy efficiency, sustainability and reducing greenhouse-gas emissions.

“Efficiency” is the main theme of this seminar from Anixter, and the hour-long panel discussion will include topics such as lighting systems, regulatory considerations, industry-organization certifications, new- and retrofit-facility deployment, and corporate-sustainability goals.
