Neighbors angry over Google Fiber tree-cutting

Oopsie.

As of May 26, 2013, KMBC-TV of Kansas City, MO reports: "A [cabling] contractor for Google Fiber cut back some trees in Kansas City's historic Volker neighborhood, and people who live and work there are upset about the damage that was done."

Quotes from Volker residents interviewed by the TV station, as seen below, include the following:

-- "They've pretty much butchered our trees."

-- "It's like cutting celery."

-- "There had to have been a better way to go about this."

-- "I feel like they vandalized our street."

-- "We're going to make them make it right, or we're going to be a real pain in their backsides."
