M2M and Internet of Things talk examines technologies' business use, benefits

Oct. 29, 2013
Infonetics Research analyst event is available for free viewing on-demand through January 2014.

Infonetics Research recently hosted a free, live webinar aimed at telecom operators, Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), M2M startups, networking vendors, device and component manufacturers, journalists and analysts looking for real-world use cases of machine-to-machine (M2M) technology. The Business Rationale for M2M webcast was presented live on Tuesday, October 22 and is available to view on-demand through Jan. 20, 2014.

Hosted by Infonetics’ Directing Analyst for M2M and Connected World, Godfrey Chua, the webinar is co-produced with M2M service provider Aeris and M2M cloud app provider SeeControl, and includes real-world M2M use case presentations from GTX, which provides GPS devices for wearable technology, and Deconstruction, which monitors environmental conditions in real-time at construction sites.

The interactive event takes a look at M2M market drivers, key verticals, applications, challenges and real-world examples demonstrating how M2M is being used to improve efficiency, create new revenue streams, and increase employee and customer satisfaction.

Infonetics' Chua explains: “The M2M industry is caught up in discussions about how many tens of billions of M2M connections there will be by 2020. The ‘how many’ discussions are important, but right now the critical conversations we want to have are around how we will actually get to tens of billions of M2M connections, and why it matters to businesses today. What are the real-world use cases and business models that will provide the foundations for growth? What is the business rationale for M2M?”

Including a 45-minute presentation followed by 15 minutes for audience Q&A, Infonetics' Business Rationale for M2M webinar can viewed on-demand after a short form registration, here.
