Global power protection and connectivity solutions manufacturer Tripp Lite has introduced more than 40 new fiber-optic patch cables and breakout cables, designed to conveniently connect switches and other equipment in emerging 400 Gigabit Ethernet (400 GbE) networks.
The manufacturer notes that "as network speeds increase, organizations need cabling that meets industry standards to connect devices in cloud services, hyperscale data centers and telecom applications." As such, the new cables are compatible with QSFP-DD transceivers, which have an eight-lane electrical interface to support data transfer rates up to 400 Gbps speeds (50 Gb per lane).
Available in singlemode and multimode styles in lengths up to 10 m (33 ft.), the new line of fiber-optic cables supports a wide variety of different combinations of connectors to ensure compatibility with an array of equipment. New end types include CS and 16-fiber MPO connectors for use with QSFP-DD transceivers.
