Background on the Voices of Ethernet archive
The Voices of Ethernet archive was announced in 2021 and was made to showcase, discuss, and preserve significant milestones in Ethernet’s history through oral history. The archive consists of recorded interviews from creators, providers, and users in the industry whether they be “engaging personal accounts of pivotal events” or “major milestones that may have otherwise been forgotten or remain widely unknown”.
Updates by the Ethernet Alliance
Over time, the Ethernet Alliance’s Voices of Ethernet has grown with recent interviews beyond those of Robert Metcalfe, Gary S. Robinson, and Robert Grow. The growing list includes Geoff Thompson, Robert Garner, Rich Seifert, Gordon Bell, David Cunningham, Tony Jefree, Paul Nikolich, and Rouzbeh Yassini-Fard.
To give background on a few of these interviewees, Geoff Thompson is an Ethernet networking and standards expert and Rich Seifert is an engineer and developer of Ethernet technology. However, all those who have been interviewed have significant input on the history of Ethernet, click here to check out the archive.
