Dow announces price increase for wire and cable materials

The increases, ranging from 6 to 20 cents per pound net, take effect January 1, 2010.

November 25, 2009 – Citing a combination of industry fundamentals including crude-oil volatility and the increasing costs of basic raw materials, the Dow Wire and Cable Business announced price increases taking effect January 1, 2010.

Specifically, telecommunications, low-voltage, and jacketing products will increase $0.06 per pound net; medium- and high-voltage products including insulation and semicons will increase $0.10 per pound net; and fire-retardant grades will increase $0.20 per pound net.
