April 1, 2009 -- The Daetwyler Group announced that it is reinforcing its cables division by acquiring the engineering business of Naefels-based SymbioTec Inc. (Switzerland) on April 1, 2009.
The acquisition of the fast growing start-up company covers its customer base, customer contracts and key personnel. Daetwyler Cables expects to benefit from SymbioTec's broad expertise in highly specialized consulting, engineering and other services focused on data networks (structured building cabling and FTTH, specifically). The acquisition will strengthen Daetwyler Cables' position as a supplier of complete solutions for electrical building infrastructure.
In addition to premium cabling solutions and existing services, Daetwyler Cables says the with the acquisition it can now offer services such as site audits, company-wide standardization and roll-outs or layer 1 out-tasking (service desk), thus enabling large organizations to considerably reduce costs. The company has specialized in applications for computer centers, office buildings, shopping centers, sports stadiums, exhibition grounds, government buildings, universities, hotels, hospitals, airports, tunnels and FTTH deployments.
