Fiber-optic limit switches contain an optical contact block that is connected to an electro-optic driver by fiber-optic cable. The distance between the driver and switch point can exceed 1000 feet. The driver is typically placed in a control panel or cluster point or in any other safe area. No electrical power is needed.
