SMA Locking Cable Assemblies Stand Up to Tough Conditions
Amphenol RF recently introduced SMA locking cable assemblies that are resistant to severe vibration and mechanical stress. One end of each assembly features Amphenol’s locking MHF 4 LK connector. The cable assembly configuration is available in both SMA and reverse-polarity SMA options designed on 1.37-mm micro-coaxial cable. They are ideal for communication networks, Internet of Things devices, defense applications, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
“These SMA and RP-SMA assemblies deliver reliable RF performance up to 7.1 GHz and are manufactured with ruggedized connectors to support a diverse array of design requirements,” the company said when introducing the assemblies. “SMA connectors use a threaded coupling mechanism and are constructed from gold-plated brass, while MHF 4 LK connectors are made from gold-plated phosphor bronze. 1.37-mm micro-coaxial cable offers a balance of performance and size with its high flexibility and ability to handle high-frequency signals. The combination of these durable connectors with this compact cable type assures reliability in demanding and rigorous environments.”
Preconfigured SMA and RP-SMA to MHF 4 LK cable assemblies are available in a variety of standard lengths in both IP67 and non-IP67 configurations.
