Eaton Launches New Network Card

The device is the one and only card with particular cybersecurity certifications.

Eaton’s most recent product in connected backup power and cybersecurity in North America is its Gigabit Network Card (Network-M3). The Network-M3 card has features for web-based monitoring and alerts by providing insights into IT power usage.

James Martin the global connectivity product manager at Eaton stated, “As IT managers continue to embrace enhanced connectivity and increase the number of smart devices on their network, they face more opportunities for cyber threats.” He further goes on to say that the Network-M3 card was made to offer increased protection against cyberattacks “while also providing the comprehensive power management needed to boost performance”.

The Network-M3 card has a secure boot process and user configurable firewall and zero-touch provisioning, with these features the card can see intrusions and make sure there’s high security and reliability for power distribution units (PDUs) and uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs).

The Network-M3 card is the only card on the market with UL 2900-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity certifications. The card “simplifies the management and security of critical infrastructure by providing a flexible cybersecurity solution that can authenticate any attached firmware, preventing a cyberattack from spreading when a threat exists.”
