Harris Corp. (Melbourne, FL) has announced the acquisition of two divisions of Triplett Corp. (Bluffton, OH). The Dracon Division of Harris, based in Camarillo, CA, will receive Triplett?s product lines of test equipment for cellular and copper-based telecommunications systems. Triplett will retain its industrial instrumentation business. Recently, Harris/Dracon acquired NC-based Micro Computer Systems Inc., which manufactures centralized and loop-test equipment used by telephone companies to monitor telephone switches and lines.

The Electronic Industries Association, or EIA, (Arlington, VA) voted at this year?s annual meeting to promote its Consumer Electronics Group to sectoral status and change its name to the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association.
