Crimpless POF connector termination

The following recent Youtube video provides a step-by-step demonstration of how to terminate a 1 mm plastic optical fiber (POF) cable using Avago’s crimpless Versatile Link connectors.

In this example, cable termination is performed for Avago's compact Fast Ethernet Versatile Link Transceiver AFBR-5972Z. Avago bills its "plastic fiber-optic cable" product line as "ideal for both field and factory installations." The crimpless fiber-optic connectors are available in simplex and duplex versions, and in various colors, for easy identification of cables in systems.
