Cat 8, fiber, AV on display at BICSI—Leviton gave us a sneak preview of the products and technologies it showed off in its booth during the BICSI Winter Exhibition. This story, describing the company’s Category 8, fiber-optic and AV displays, was a frequent “click” throughout the week.
NFL blames network cable for sideline snafu—The National Football League insisted there was nothing wrong with the Microsoft Surface tablets on the New England Patriots’ sidelines during the AFC Championship Game on January 24. Instead, the league said, the network cable at Sports Authority Field at Mile High was to blame.
Micro armored fiber cable—Another BICSI “sneak preview” was among our top stories last week. This one describes TiniFiber’s patented Micro Armor Fiber Cables and accessories, which the company unveiled to the public during the exhibition.
PoE lighting system at Clemson—Clemson University deployed a Philips lighting system powered by Power over Ethernet. The installation at the coincidentally named Watt Family Innovation Center on the Clemson campus “is the first time that a university in the U.S. will benefit from a commercial Power over Ethernet connected lighting system,” said Philips Lighting Americas president Amy Huntington.
