HDBaseT receivers enable full single-room AV systems

Feb. 12, 2014
Aurora Multimedia's DXE-CAT-RX3 series adds four new receivers to the company's "One Room-One Cable" product platform.

Aurora Multimedia, a specialist in IP control systems and HD video distribution, has added to its HDBaseT CAT Receiver series the DXE-CAT-RX3 receivers. The new HDBaseT product line adds four models, all incorporating dual-relays, line-level audio inputs (with mixing controls) and a de-embedding audio output. Two models add a 2x20W amplifier as well as an embedded Web Control Engine for full system control.

Aurora says the DXE-CAT-RX3 line puts all this power at the level of the display, giving credence to the company's "One Room-One Cable" marketing for the products.

Postioned for classroom and conference room applications, the DXE-CAT-RX3-A mates with Aurora's new DXW-2 series HDBaseT wall plates, as well as its HDBaseT transmitters, creating a complete single room AV system for handling AV distribution, display and screen control, as well as audio amplification all over a single "umbilical" cable. The DXE-CAT-RX3L versions (available with and without 2x20w amplifier) add an IP-based control system for integration with third-party, IP-capable control systems or standalone web-server tablet control.

Aurora's "One Room-One Cable" platform include the company's DXE-CAT extenders, DXW-2 wall plates, ASP Scaler and DXM-G2 Matrix switchers, and DXB-8 button panels. The company says the products collectively allow a single CATx cable to be connected between source and display with embedded control over Ethernet. All products are manufactured in the company's New Jersey facility. For more information, visit www.auroramultimedia.com.
