January 26, 2009 -- FCI-Burndy Products announced that the eight most popular sizes of the company's GAR mechanical grounding connectors are now UL467 Listed and CSA Certified for wire to rebar applications. The GAR connectors are also acceptable for direct burial in earth or concrete, notes the company.
The GAR grounding connectors are designed for joining a range of cable, parallel or at right angles to pipe, rod, tube, fence posts, and rebar. The connectors feature a high copper alloy cast body with the company's Durium U-bolts, nuts and lockwashers, allowing an entire connection to be buried in ground or concrete without danger of corrosion.
