VoIP multi-connection device patent granted

netTALK.com Inc. (Miami, FL), a provider of telephone services who connects its worldwide customer base through cloud-connected and traditional Web based devices, announced that it has received grant of U.S. Pat. No. 8,243,722, titled "VOIP Analogue Telephone System". The invention described by the patent allows a voice-over-IP (VoIP) user to connect via Ethernet, USB, WiFi, WiMax, Bluetooth, 3G, 4G, or other wireless protocols, to place VoIP calls seamlessly between devices and netTALK switching centers.

The company says that the grant of the '722 patent reflects the efforts carried out by netTALK and its engineering team to bring this “first of its kind” multi-connection device to the market. "The success obtaining this patent and new patents applications is a result of our team efforts and the good execution of our plans. We will vigorously protect our patents,” said the company's, chief executive officer, Anastasios Kyriakides.

netTALK cites itself as "a pioneer in creating devices that allow customers to travel anywhere and take their low-priced telephone service with them."

Further, netTALK identifies itself as the first company to have produced a dual connectivity VoIP device, with its TK6000/DUO product, which allows its user to leverage either a USB or Ethernet connection. This product was followed by the introduction of the DUO WiFi product, whcih allows a user to choose USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity for their telephone service.

The company adds that its ongoing innovation supports growth initiatives in many sectors, including its new mobile app for Android and iPhones, mobile cell phone service, video, SMS texting, and other services that "enable customers to free themselves from traditional high-cos[telephone] service providers." Other pending U.S. and international patent applications from the company are reportedly in review.
